Wage & Hour Boot Camp

Join CGWG Attorneys Missy McJunkins Duke and Greg Northen for this in-depth training session addressing wage and hour law pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Participants will receive guidance concerning the U.S. Department of Labor’s proposed rule issued on March 7, 2019, which increases the salary threshold for exempt employees and learn about the issues employers frequently face with respect to the FLSA, including:

  • Misclassification of employees as exempt

  • Off-the-clock work

  • Calculation of the regular rate of pay

  • Bonuses

  • Travel time

  • Meal and rest periods

  • Tips

  • Misclassification of employees as independent contractors

  • Time records

The participants will receive training on what to expect in a DOL investigation and how to review time records and other documents to ensure compliance. We will specifically review and analyze job duties for classifying exempt job positions. Finally, the training will include ample time for questions and answers.
